Our team set out to translate Gotan’s mission of connecting people to real food and coffee into a brand and online ordering experience. We set out to orchestrate a new model for online ordering- with a focus on making the user experience as exceptional as possible. The brand itself needed to encourage connections to customers to foster loyalty and repeat orders.

Understanding the company.
Tired of all those missed connections? Weepo is a meeting app that connects users with others who are attending the same event. User chooses an event they're attending and they 'swipe' with other users who are attending the same event.
Dating apps flooded the market in recent years, and we wanted to create a product that stood out and made dating easier. We improvised a concept that would link users based on events they were attending instead of just location or age range. We found that this approach took out the hassle of arranging a place to meet and allowed users to meet potential matches in a neutral setting. Connecting based on interests and meeting up at events allowed us to facilitate matches all the while ensuring user’s had the power to initiate contact and engage with fellow users as much or as little as they liked.

Through out the project with Gotan, Apptales has prided itself on its customer-first approach, anticipating and understanding the needs of users, and maintaining an ongoing and transparent line of communication.
Using our findings and past experience, we have continually worked towards creating a holistic and all-encompassing design that is tailored to users needs and desires.

A new precedent for capturing fresh ingredients.
We attained our goal by restructuring Gotan’s digital presence and building a native iOS/Android/Web application- which enabled us to connect users to their most convenient Gotan location.
This new infrastructure enabled Gotan to adapt to its growing client base while maintaining its goals and values. It has encouraged customers and staff alike to interact with the brand in a way that exceeded our expectations.
Building personalization into every touchpoint.
Our intention for Gotan was to create a cohesive image that highlights the importance of fresh, local ingredients in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The art direction needed to highlights these tenants and celebrate Gotan’s mission.
While developing the art direction, we focused on the creativity seen within the kitchen and coffee counter at Gotan. The baristas served as a point of inspiration as they treat the coffee preparation like an art. We aimed to incorporate that dedication into our design and create a similar feel with a clean design and an image heavy presence.
